The function of an artist is not to make pretty little things; to amuse or divert.

The role of an artist is not to be a window; translucent or amicable.

Artists define our culture which is neither unbiased nor fair-minded.

Culture is political.

Artists give historical placement.

Artists are our extroverted connection to the world.

Artists are a direct reflection of social order.

The purpose of an artist is to be a mirror which forces society to take a good look at itself.

The responsibility of an artist is three-fold:

make the statement

this is who we are

ask the question

is this who we want to be

give the aspiration

this is who we can become

Art is immersion.

Art is critical reflection.

Art is action.
